Sutta 9

Anicca Suttaṁ

Impermanent

[214] [144]

Thus have I heard:

Once the Exalted One addressed the Brethren, saying: -

"There are these three feelings, Brethren,
impermanent,
compounded,
arising owing to something,
perishable by nature,
changeable by nature,
of a nature to fade away,
of a nature to cease.

What three?

Feeling that is pleasant,
feeling that is painful,
and neutral feeling.

These are the three feelings, Brethren,
impermanent,
compounded,
arising owing to something,
perishable by nature,
changeable by nature,
of a nature to fade away,
of a nature to cease."
