To Be Remembered
[169]
THUS have I heard:
Once the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:
"Monks."
"Yes, lord," they replied, and the Exalted One said:
"Monks, I will teach you dhamma not to be remembered and dhamma to be remembered.
Do ye listen to it.
Pay attention carefully and I will speak."
"We will, sir," replied those monks to the Exalted One,
who said this:
"And what, monks, is dhamma not to be remembered?
Wrong view,
wrong thinking,
wrong speech,
wrong action,
wrong living,
wrong effort,
wrong mindfulness,
wrong concentration,
wrong knowledge,
wrong release.
This is called 'dhamma not to be remembered'
§
And what, monks, is the dhamma to be remembered?
Right view,
right thinking,
right speech,
right action,
right living,
right effort,
right mindfulness,
right concentration,
right knowledge,
right release.
This is called "Dhamma to be remembered'."
