Bright Way and Dark Way
[168]
THUS have I heard:
Once the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:
"Monks."
"Yes, lord," they replied, and the Exalted One said:
"Monks, I will teach you dhamma that is the bright way, likewise dhamma that is the dark way.
Do ye listen to it.
Pay attention carefully and I will speak."
"We will, sir," replied those monks to the Exalted One,
who said this:
"And what, monks, is dhamma that is the dark way?
Wrong view,
wrong thinking,
wrong speech,
wrong action,
wrong living,
wrong effort,
wrong mindfulness,
wrong concentration,
wrong knowledge,
wrong release.
This is called 'dhamma that is the dark way'.
