THUS have I heard:

Once the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:

"Monks."

"Yes, lord," they replied, and the Exalted One said:

"Monks, these ten states
conduce to downright revulsion,
to fading,
ending,
calming,
comprehension,
enlightenment,
to nibbāna,
but only in the discipline of the Wayfarer.

What ten?

Right view,
right thinking,
right speech,
right action,
right living,
right effort,
right mindfulness,
right concentration,
right knowledge,
right release.

These are the ten states,
that conduce to downright revulsion,
to fading,
ending,
calming,
comprehension,
enlightenment,
to nibbāna,
but only in the discipline of the Wayfarer."
