Sutta 140

"Monks, there are these two gifts.

What two?

The carnal and the spiritual.156

These are the two.

Of these two the spiritual gift is pre-eminent."

"Monks, there are these two sacrifices.

What two?

The carnal and the spiritual.

These are the two.

Of these two the spiritual sacrifice is pre-eminent."

 


 

Sutta 142

"Monks, there are these two liberalities.

What two?

The carnal and the spiritual.

These are the two.

Of these two the spiritual liberality is pre-eminent."

"Monks, there are these two offerings.

What two?

The carnal and the spiritual.
